State-run power means
it will never be reliable

Re: “PG&E debacle calls for new PUC approach” (Editorial, Eastbaytimes.com, Oct. 30):

The current proposed solution for restoring confidence in PG&E is for the public to take over. What this really means is for our state government to run the agency. Do you want your power governed by those who brought you the DMV? Failed to deliver the bullet train? Ran way over budget on the bridge? Can’t manage our forests with controlled burns to save us from random fires? Overcommitted to pensions so that our state is basically broke?

Get out your generators. State-run power means we’ll never be able to rely on it again.
